Ukrainian IT and cloud provider De Novo is set to expand its data center in the central Podil’s’kyi district of Kiev, looking to diversify its range of products and services.

Built in 2010, the current data center offers 2N redundancy on air conditioning systems, 2N on UPS and a diesel power station comprising four generators with backup.

The facility is made up of 33 screened room modules ensuring physical security of customers. As part of the expansion, De Novo will be adding 170 racks and another 1.25MW of power capacity.

Screens for security 

Amongst the company’s customer base are several banks and government institutions including the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the National bank of Ukraine, TBC Bank of Georgia and Sberbank of Russia.

“Almost seven years of data center’s flawless execution speaks volumes for the quality of our services,” said Sergey Karpenko, De Novo’s executive manager.

“This underlines our position as a market leader, which is strongly supported by De Novo customers voting for this with their own money. The second phase of the project is a step, which will allow us to keep our leading position in future by enabling our clients with a comprehensive portfolio of both cloud and colocation services.”

The extension is set to be built to Tier III standards; construction is expected to be finished by early 2018, and the facility will be open to customers within the first quarter of next year.
