Edge computing has become the most exciting, and hotly contested area with data centers. With increased demand from consumers, the prospect of 5G mobile networking and the potential explosion of the Internet of Things (IoT), it has become obvious that service providers will rapidly need large amounts of capacity close to end users and devices.
Standards and technology are evolving for these new edge facilities, and new ways to certify them have been put forward by the Uptime Institute.
