DataSite Orlando, a provider of superior, large-scale datacenter space in the United States, will open a 130,000 square-foot purpose-built datacenter in south Orlando.
The facility is scheduled to begin accommodating tenants in September of this year, assisting the region's marketplace by offering large-scale, secure space for the operation of data storage equipment and networks.
"Datacenter space is very scarce in central Florida, and the size of this facility makes it a unique asset for our community, said Rob Wilson, Director of Sales and Marketing for DataSite. "By expanding the infrastructure base for Central Florida's high tech sector, DataSite Orlando will be a valuable tool in growing existing business and attracting new business to the region.
DataSite Orlando will offer clients an alternative to investing millions of dollars in infrastructure upgrades to convert a space into a mission-critical facility. The company will offer fully customizable spaces in wide-ranging sizes, multiple uninterruptable power systems, 24-hour security and surveillance, biometrically-controlled access, advanced water-cooling capabilities, and other features essential for operating a world class datacenter.
Over the next year, DataSite Orlando is investing in excess of $26 million to provide necessary upgrades to the facility. Total Site Solutions, a mission-critical design/build and facilities management company, was recently awarded the contract to perform the upgrades and will complete the first phase of mechanical and electrical infrastructure by the end of August 2008, in addition to providing tech-related facility maintenance services for DataSite Orlando.
