Parts of England are still in the midst of the worst floods to have inflicted the country in over 60 years.
According to disaster recovery company Sungard, sectors including finance, local government and utilities have been affected, with more half a dozen of its customers invoking disaster recovery plans.
Companies from sectors including finance, local government and utilities, have all been affected by the recent flooding around Gloucester, according to disaster recovery company SunGard, which said more than half a dozen of its customers have invoked their disaster recovery plans. Some buildings have become water-logged whilst power failures and contaminated water supplies have affected other facilities.
In Yorkshire and Lincolnshire GP practices have been able to maintain their business continuity due to Computer Science Corporation's (CSC) data center.
Leigh Donoghue, CSC's primary care director, told E-Health Insider: "This is one of the benefits of new NHS computer systems. Practices can be sure that their data will be sent to a secure data center at all times and they can gain access to it at all times, whatever the weather."
