DuPont Fabros closes eight leases, raises $300m-plus
DuPont Fabros Technology reported results for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. The company's revenue for the quarter was $59.3m, up 21.3 percent from the same period last year. DuPont reported a net income of about $10.2m, up from $5.5m it reported for the second quarter of last year.
During the quarter, DuPont executed eight new leases and renewed one, totaling 17.66MW of critical power. It also raised about $305m by issuing 13.8m shares of common stock. It has commenced development of new data centers in Ashburn, Va., and in Santa Clara, Calif.
Slight increase in Cincinatti Bell after completion of CyrusOne acquisition
By closing the acquisition of Texas colocation service provider CyrusOne, Cincinnati Bell increased its data center floor-space to 621,000 sq ft. In addition to boosting its inventory, the transaction has also enabled the buyer to slightly grow revenue.
Cincinatti Bell finished the second quarter with $339m in revenue, a three-percent increase year over year. Its net income was $9.6m, down from $26.3m one year ago. The acquisition cost $525m to the provider.
TelecityGroup expands capacity, grows revenue
For the six months ending June 30, European data center provider TelecityGroup reported a revenue of $149.5m (£93.7m), up from the $131.1 (£82.2m) it reported for the first half of 2009. The company's profit for the first six month of 2010 was $28m (£17.6m), an increase from the $21.5m (£13.5m) TelecityGroup earned during the same period last year.
During the year's first half, the provider has expanded capacity in Stockholm by 2.6MW. It has also bought additional capacity in Manchester, expanding its inventory by another 1.4MW. TelecityGroup's total critical-power capacity is now 92MW ÔÇô up from 60MW one year ago.
NYSE Euronext grows technology services business, launches new New Jersey data center
Stock-exchange operator NYSE Euronext's Information Services and Technology Solutions generated $107m in revenue during the second quarter ÔÇô 16 percent of total revenue. The business includes NYSE's data center colocation product.
The segment was also responsible for seven percent of NYSE's net second-quarter earnings. The company reported total net income of $167m, up from $132m reported one year ago. The second-quarter Information Services and Technology Solutions revenue increased 29 percent year-over-year.
On Monday, NYSE launched the first phase of its new data center in Mahwah, N.J., by commencing trading of the first 19 stocks to be supported by the 28MW facility.
AboveNet revenue grows as demand for bandwidth recovers
Connectivity service provider AboveNet reported a net income of $16.3m on $100.7m in revenue for the second quarter. This was a drop from $24.6m in income on $88m of revenue the company reported for the same three months one year ago.
AboveNet's basic income-per-share dropped from $1.07 in the second quarter of 2009 to $0.64 in the second quarter of this year.
The company's CEO Bill LaPerch said in a statement that recovery in customer spending on high-bandwidth connectivity that began in the year's first quarter had continued in the second quarter. He forecasted strong demand to continue into the near future.
Internap expands data center space, shrinks losses
Data center and network service provider Internap saw a slight drop in revenue year-over-year but also managed to shrink quarterly losses. There was about an even split between the portions of revenue generated by Internap's data center service and IP service businesses. Data center service revenue declined three percent year-over-year and IP service revenue dropped nine percent.
Internap's revenue for the quarter was $69.5m, down from 64.4m it reported for the second quarter of last year. The provider reported a net loss of about $1.2m ÔÇô a substantial improvement from the $60.6m loss it reported for the same period last year.
Internap added 26,500 sq ft of sellable data center space in July.
