IBM announced Tuesday a project to expand its Geneva data center. After the company completes adding about 10,000 sq ft to the facility, it will measure a total of about 34,000 sq ft, DMEurope reports. IBM started the project in July and plans to make new space available to customers in the first quarter of 2011.

The project was started in response to growing demand for managed and dedicated data center services.

Savvis gets $600m-plus in new credit facilities
Provider of hosting services Savvis has raised more than $600m in new capital. The new credit facilities include a $550m term loan, maturing in 2016, and a new $75m revolving credit facility, maturing in early 2014.

"This six-year maturity provides flexibility to support our strategic growth strategy," Chairman and CEO Jim Ousley said in a statement. "Savvis is poised for significant opportunities, and the fact that we successfully raised money in today's fluctuating financing market conditions demonstrates the confidence investors have in our vision."
