After the company completes adding about 10,000 sq ft to the facility, it will measure a total of about 34,000 sq ft, DMEurope reports. IBM started the project in July and plans to make new space available to customers in the first quarter of 2011.
The project was started in response to growing demand for managed and dedicated data center services.
Savvis gets $600m-plus in new credit facilities
Provider of hosting services Savvis has raised more than $600m in new capital. The new credit facilities include a $550m term loan, maturing in 2016, and a new $75m revolving credit facility, maturing in early 2014.
"This six-year maturity provides flexibility to support our strategic growth strategy,"Chairman and CEO Jim Ousley said in a statement. "Savvis is poised for significant opportunities, and the fact that we successfully raised money in today's fluctuating financing market conditions demonstrates the confidence investors have in our vision."
VanillaSoft signs on for Terremark hosting services
Provider of telemarketing software VanillaSoft has expanded its data center capacity by taking hosting services at a Terremark facility. The company did not disclose which of Terremark's numerous data centers it will provide its IT services.
VanillaSoft President Ken Murray said in a statement that Terremark was attractive because of its international footprint. The company expects to see continued growth throughout the rest of the year.
Juniper gear certified for compatibility with US Defense Department's systems
Provider of networking equipment Juniper has opened a door for new contract opportunities with the US military. The US Department of Defense has certified some of the vendor's network routers, switches and VoIP solutions for interoperability with its networks. The products were added to the Unified Capabilities Approved Product List.
The newly certified products are EX3200 and EX4200 Ethernet switches, MX240, MX480 and MX960 Universal Edge routers and the CTP 1000 and 2000 series circuit-to-packet solutions that enable advances of voice and video over IP in voice and data networks.
