Size of the raised-floor footprint of data center services provider CyrusOne has reached 1m sq ft, the company announced Thursday. This footprint is spread across 25 facilities in the US, Europe and Asia.
The company crossed the threshold when it commissioned a new 60,000 sq ft data hall at its Carrollton, Texas, data center. The company is based in Carrollton.
Gary Wojtasze, the company's president and CEO, said reaching this size was “a tremendous accomplishment for the entire CyrusOne team and reflects solid progress toward our goal of being the preferred data center provider of Fortune 1000 companies.”
Construction of the second phase in Carrollton was completed in 16 weeks, the company said.
Laramie Dorris, director of data center design and construction at CyrusOne, said, “Our accelerated build schedule enables us to efficiently meet growing customer space demands in a timely fashion and is successful due to our close collaboration and communication with our architect and engineering partners, equipment vendors, and contractors.”
