Cummins Power Generation Inc., a division of Cummins Inc., announced global price increases of up to 3 percent for most of its diesel- and gas-fueled generator sets, automatic transfer switches and other products.
The price changes, which take effect for shipments made after January 1, 2013, are in response to global market conditions and foreign exchange rates.
Cummins’ portfolio consists of an extensive variety of generators, including diesel- and gas-fueled engines for different applications. It offers gen-set control systems, transfer switches and paralleling gear as well.
In August, the company unveiled four new generator models, designed for smaller power requirements. The new options were 175kW, 200kW, 275kW and 300kW.
Cummins announced in November a new rating for diesel generators used in data centers. Called Data Center Continuous (DCC), the rating identifies generators that can run for an unlimited number of hours and without restrictions on average variable load factor.
Cummins’ high-horsepower diesel gen-sets (1MW to 2.5MW, both 50Hz and 60Hz configurations) carry the rating.
