The final building under construction at the Stargate AI data center campus in Abilene, Texas, has been topped out.

Crusoe, which is developing the site and leasing it to Oracle and OpenAI, announced the news on LinkedIn.

The company wrote: “This week, Crusoe topped off the eighth and final building of our flagship AI data center campus in Abilene, TX.

“A huge thank you to our partners and investors for supporting our vision — and to the 7,000 electricians, construction pros, and skilled tradespeople who come to Abilene every day to build the future of AI infrastructure.

“We’re proud of this major milestone in our journey to deliver foundational infrastructure with velocity and efficiency.”

The data centers are being built by Crusoe on the Lancium Clean Campus. Construction work has been ongoing at the campus since July 2024, with the first Nvidia GB200 racks arriving earlier this year.

In September, Crusoe said the first two buildings on the planned 1.2GW site were operational and being used by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for OpenAI. The two buildings span 980,000 sq ft (91,045 sqm) and support 200MW+ of IT.

In March, Crusoe began work on the second phase, which will add six more buildings, bringing the total to approximately 4 million square feet (371,610 sqm), and a total power capacity of 1.2GW. It is expected to be completed in mid-2026.

In October 2025, Oracle's CTO Larry Ellison seemingly confirmed that the Stargate project would use the entirety of the Crusoe campus.

The campus is the first of OpenAI’s Stargate sites to come online, but the company has made multiple announcements about plans for data centers across the US and around the world.
