Around 78% of corporations said they have had internal discussions about using cloud computing, according to a survey from business advisory firm TPI.

Concerns about security, compliance, continuity and data protection are still inhibitors to take-up.

Kevin Smile, partner at TPI, said, however, the rate of businesses migrating into the cloud remains slow.

"Only three out of five are moving forward - and most of those are working on pilot projects or low-risk services to test the waters and identify the issues," Smile said.

Of the 140 corporate IT decision-makers surveyed, five main concerns arose about migrating business services into the cloud:
