The following content is from an older version of this website, and may not display correctly.US data center developer and operator CoreSite has deployed Mitsubishi UPS systems at one of its newest facilities in Silicon Valley.
Power in the data center company's recently completed 100,000-sq-ft data center in Santa Clara, California, is backed up by Mitsubishi's 9900B series on-line double-conversion UPS units. This is the sixth CoreSite facility to use Mitsubishi UPS.
Billie Haggard, senior VP of data centers at CoreSite, said Mitsubishi's UPS units were an important component in achieving the company's energy efficiency goals for the massive new data center campus.
"Mitsubishi Electric Power Products worked closely with CoreSite to provide custom UPS solutions that deliver optimal reliability, efficiency, and capacity management to our data centers," Haggard said.
According to CoreSite, the units are rated to be 97% efficient, which contributes to a better Power Usage Effectiveness of the facility. The efficiency rating was calculated at unity power factor.
CoreSite said the data center's PUE was 1.3.
The UPS units also contributed to the data center's LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council.
CoreSite completed the first data center on its Santa Clara campus in July.
