Compass Datacenters has bought rights to build facilities in three new sites, spreading its standard-build data centers to new parts of the US.

Responding to increased market demand for suitable data center construction sites in major markets, Compass Datacenters has secured the rights to land with room to build as many as nine of its 1.2 MW data centers. The 43.2 acres of land are in three sites in Georgia, Texas, and Ohio with the southern locations marking the first foray into those regions for Compass.

Redundancy in Ohio

In New Albany, Ohio, Compass has secured a 9.5 acre site, just north of its recently completed data center for American Electric Power. The site is pre-permitted and has space for two standard Compass data center builds with redundancy built into the local power grid.

In Texas, Compass has secured the rights to a 10.2 acre parcel in Richardson, which is in the center of the Dallas Telecomm Corridor. Pre-permitted for up to two data centers, the site features excellent fiber connectivity and a highly reliable power infrastructure.

The 23.5 acre site secured in Lilith Springs, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, can support up to five of the standard Compass data center designed buildings and is also pre-permitted. The site has multiple power provided choices, and features local economic incentives for building and operating data centers, both for colo and tenants.

Compass believes that the ability to provide dedicated, turnkey facilities to customers who want the privacy and security of single tenant, but the operational simplicity of colo, will drive the build at these new locations. Chris Crosby, CEO of Compass Datacenters stated “These three markets are high interest areas for our customers who have found conventional colocation alternatives to be insufficient for their needs. That is why Compass has added these parcels of land to our portfolio of sites that are available for builds with very aggressive timelines.”
