Responding to the growing demand for professional data centre services in Germany, COLT today announced it is reopening its Hamburg data centre at an investment of one million Euros. Customer demand for competitive IT strategies including utility computing and managed services is driving an ebusiness renaissance', which COLT is uniquely positioned to meet with its 14-strong European data centre footprint.
With the new data centre, COLT will offer its Hamburg customers a high availability and secure infrastructure which can be used both as a secondary data centre, for backup and disaster recovery purposes, and for customers looking to fully outsource their mission-critical applications to a secure location.
Andreas Kederer, the newly appointed director of Managed Services at COLT in Germany, explains: "Integrated with COLT's Hamburg city network, the new data centre will be able to skilfully host time-critical and bandwidth consuming applications. All of our enterprise customers - particularly those from the financial services, tourism and logistics sectors - will benefit from our secure business continuity and back up solutions.
The services portfolio of COLT's BS7799-certified data centres comprises data back-up and redundant server and storage solutions, which provide maximum fail-safe and data security to COLT's customers. The offering ranges from simple housing and managed server and web hosting up to complex managed IT solutions, where COLT takes over the design, implementation and operation of the entire solution.
COLT operates 14 data centres across Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
