Carrier-neutral colocation provider Colt Data Center Services (DCS) is now offering private connectivity to AWS and Microsoft’s Azure Cloud from its London data center, and plans to extend this service to a number of European data centers in upcoming months.
Coltivating connectivity
Colt’s DCS platform, which can be accessed by adding a cross-connect onto an in-house rack, provides ‘on-demand’ services, with the possibility of toggling between various bandwidth requirements (10Mbps to 1Gbps), and the choice between pay-as-you go or fixed-term contracts.
Colt also provides the option of connecting to cloud providers across Europe using the same network port at no additional cost.
The company says this service is specifically suited to hybrid and multi-cloud platform operators such as system integrators and managed service providers, due to its flexibility and low cost when compared to fixed contracts with specific cloud or colocation providers.
Colt owns 22 data centers across Europe, and manages an additional seven in the Asia Pacific Region, offering cloud, colocation and fiber connected networks worldwide. The company recently announced its plan to extend its Colt IQ Network - which currently serves 28 countries – to Hong Kong.
