NIC Inc., a US provider of IT support services for small and medium-size businesses, has taken space with Phoenix NAP at the provider’s data center. The company cited location in Phoenix as primary reason for choosing the facility, according to Phoenix NAP.

The area does not experience many natural disasters, which makes it safe location for placing mission-critical infrastructure. Other deciding factors cited by the client included systems redundancy, around-the-clock network operating center services, security and pricing.

DataTree colocates at C7 data center

C7 Data Centers signed a multi-year agreement to provide data center services to DataTree, a provider of online database software, the US data center company said earlier this week.

C7 has three data centers in the State of Utah. Which of the three DataTree took colocation space in was not disclosed. DataTree president Eric Smith said key selling points for his company were C7’s internet connectivity options and redundant power and cooling systems.

Pulsant gets cloud provider

UK data center services provider Pulsant has sold colocation space to 365 iTMS, a provider of private and public cloud services, Pulsant announced Thursday.

The cloud firm has moved about 30 servers supporting its offerings to Pulsant’s data center in Maidenhead. Eddy Alejos, technical director at 365 iTMS, said these servers underpinned a large portion of the company’s operations, so the move was not treated lightly.

“It was vital that we had a partner we could trust both in terms of migration, long term stability and secure facilities,” Alejos said.
