Hosting provider Codero announced Friday that it is building a new data center in Phoenix, Ariz. The 22,000-square-foot facility will provide data center floor for 8,900 servers and office space, according to a Codero statement. The provider plans to complete the data center in November of 2009. Codero plans to use the facility to provide services to small and mid-size businesses.

The site will include all of the required back-up and redundancy features, including UPS systems, diesel generators, redundant HVAC systems and fully redundant routing equipment. Its dry-pipe, pre-action double interlock fire suppression system will include a pre-action sprinkler back-up system.

The data center will be staffed around the clock with technicians and engineers. Around-the-clock surveillance by security personnel will be provided as well.

Codero - which has been in the hosting business for about 15 years - specializes in dedicated and managed hosting for small and mid-sized businesses. Its services include email, e-commerce, security and networking solutions. The firm provides a full line of Windows and Linux servers, EVault Backup, Pinnacle Shopping Cart and other services.
