A major Google Cloud outage disrupted much of the Internet, including provider Cloudflare - causing issues with users of either service.
Among those impacted are a broad array of Google services, including Home/Nest, some Meet calls, and Google Search. Also affected were Spotify, Discord, Weights & Biases, Freetrade, and the DCD website, among others.
Google said that "multiple GCP products are experiencing Service issues with API requests."
Over at Cloudflare, the company said at 18:19 UTC that it was investigating an issue causing Access authentication to fail. By 18:48, it said that impacted services include Access WARP, Durable Objects (SQLite backed Durable Objects only), Workers KV, Realtime Workers AI, Stream, AI Gateway, AutoRAG, and parts of the Cloudflare dashboard.
By 19:16 UTC, the company said: "We are starting to see services recover. We still expect to see intermittent errors across the impacted services as systems handle retried and caches are filled."
This has allowed DCD to return to covering the outage, and the digital infrastructure sector more broadly. However, we are still seeing issues, and regret any disruption to service. DCD uses both Cloudflare and Google Cloud.
Cloudflare told DCD in a statement that its core services were still operational, and pointed the failure at Google.
"We are currently investigating a service disruption to some Google Cloud services,” Google said in a statement.
