Content delivery network (CDN) and Internet services business Cloudflare has suffered latency issues at a data center in Newark, New Jersey.
Cloudflare shared a status update today, February 16, at 10:19 UTC, noting that it had "detected an issue regarding elevated latency affecting a subset of HTTP requests in Newark, NJ. We are actively investigating this region. Some customers using Cloudflare Data Loss Prevention (DLP) suite may see intermittent errors for traffic in this data center."
By 12:02 UTC, the company said it had found the problem and was working on a solution.
Many apps and websites rely on Cloudflare's services for operations. In November 2025, a global outage for Cloudflare brought down ChatGPT, X, Bet365, Grindr, League of Legends. Worst of all, DCD and sister site SDxCentral were also brought offline.
DCD and SDxCentral remain unharmed in the latest incident.
DownDetector.com previously reported that issues were coinciding with outages experienced by X and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS has refuted this, and has since posted on X: "AWS services have been operating normally, however an unrelated disruption elsewhere on the Internet is prompting some inaccurate news reports. The only resource on the Internet that provides accurate data on the availability of our services is the AWS Health Dashboard."
The AWS Health Dashboard shows the platform is fully operating.
