Thomson Reuters has chosen an existing partner CJC to provide software support for its new hosting solution for electronic trading firms that will be housed in Savvis data centers in US, Europe and Asia.
As extension of its relationship with Thomson Reuters, CJC will provide maintenance, monitoring, capacity management and problem diagnosis and resolution for the hosting product, as well as support and migration testing for customers transitioning to the new Thomson Reuters platform.
"CJC was a natural choice to support this expansion having already proven their expertise in optimizing our existing market data infrastructure together with their track record of consistent execution throughout our longstanding relationship," Thomson Reuters Head of Enterprise Information Mike Powell said in a statement.
The offering, which consists of colocation and managed hosting in physical proximity to Thomson Reuters' financial market data infrastructure, will be supported by Savvis data centers in New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Singapore. According to an earlier DatacenterDynamics interview with Thomson Reuters, the company planned to launch the solution by the end of February.
Besides data center services revenue, Savvis expects to benefit from the deal by attracting clients that will want to install their equipment next to Thomson Reuters infrastructure to reduce market-access latency.
"Reuters is an 800-pound gorilla in the market," Savvis SVP and Managing Director Bill Fathers said last October, when the deal was initially announced. "They act as a powerful magnet for a range of other participants. Most people will want to flock to where Thomson Reuters platforms reside."
