UK colocation providers City Lifeline and 4D Data Centres have teamed up to offer clients added disaster recovery and backup services across the two sites.
As part of the partnership, a high capacity dedicated fiber link has been installed connecting the City Lifeline London site near Moorgate – by the City of London – and 4D’s flagship Byfleet data center, in Surrey, in the South East of London.
4D managing director Jack Bedell-Pearce said the arrangement allows for full mirroring of critical operations and backup that is geographically dispersed.
“Partnering with City lifeline means we can offer colocation, data storage and mirroring operations in Central London and transfer data speedily and cost effectively over our mutual 1GB connection,” Bedell-Pearce said.
4D has three other data centers, in London City, London’s Docklands and Kent. Its flagship data center just off the M25 ring road is a tier III facility, as is city Lifeline’s Lifeline House data center.
