Christopher Goldsberry has left EDP Renewables after sixteen years at the company, joining Meta.

Goldsberry has been named an energy manager at the company, focused on clean and renewable energy supplies.

EDP Renewables North America develops, owns, and operates a number of renewable projects across the US, including 61 wind farms, 26 solar parks, and several energy storage deployments.

At the company, Goldsberry led more than 1.5GW of PPA and VPPA transactions with both corporate and traditional buyers in MISO, PJM & ERCOT, as well as 1GW as a transaction's 'second' in WECC, CAISO, and SPP.

"While I'm extremely excited to get some experience on the 'other side of the table' at Meta, leaving EDP wasn’t easy: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work alongside what I truly believe is one of the best origination teams in the industry," Goldsberry said on LinkedIn.

Meta is aggressively expanding its data center portfolio as it deploys massive AI clusters. The company plans to launch its first gigawatt campus next year, with another potentially set to grow to 5GW.

The company has signed for gigawatts of renewable PPAs, including in Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.

Last month alone, Meta signed a 20-year PPA with Constellation for the entire output of an Illinois nuclear power plant, as well as a 791MW renewable energy deal with Invenergy.

However, to directly power its biggest data centers, the company is turning to natural gas - with a 200MW gas power plant being built to serve Meta's New Albany data center.
