Management consultancy Capgemini has signed onto a Digital Realty Trust Turn-Key Datacentre lease agreement in a French site.

The deal further expands Capgemini's hosting capability that is offers to outsourcing clients and the statement issued to accompany the deal suggests that "optimization of energy costs" had a major influence on the choice of DRT.

Every Turn-Key Datacentre is built using the company's proprietary POD Architecture and uses metered power to ensure that clients pay only for the power that they use, DRT said.

Over the past two years Capgemini has put much effort into upgrading its hosting offering in order to provide its clients with maximum resilience and security levels, optimisation of energy costs, together with a high level quality of services.

"By leasing space in its facility, we are able to move forward immediately with our datacentre plans without the significant capital investment ordinarily associated with large hosting projects," said Olivier Herrmann, Capgemini's Deputy Chief Operations Officer, Outsourcing Services.
