Data center services provider C7 Data Centers has raised US$25m in a combination of debt and equity funding. The investors were MCG Capital Corp. and Signal Peak Ventures, which has invested in C7 in the past.
The funds will help Lindon, Utah-based C7 expand its data center footprint. Signal Peak managing director Brandon Tidwell said the firm was pleased with the provider’s growth and business-development abilities.
“C7 has maintained customer satisfaction and retention levels that are remarkably high,” he said. “Because of this, C7 has an immediate and massive opportunity to convincingly sell to new customers and provide additional data center services to existing customers.”
C7 CEO Wes Swenson said it was important to work with investors like MCG and Signal Peak, who understood the colocation market well at this stage of the company’s growth. With this support, C7 will be building “additional data centers we have planned locally and regionally,” he said.
The company currently has three data centers in its home state: one each in Salt Lake City, Bluffdale and Lindon. The Bluffdale facility is the largest, boasting 65,000 sq ft and 8MW of power.
