C7, a Lindon, Utah-based colocation provider, has expanded its disaster recovery offering by partnering up with a data center operator in Boise, Idaho.

As a result of the partnership, Boise's SolutionPro, a colocation and Internet exchange provider, will also be able to offer similar disaster recovery services to customers of its sole data center. C7 operates four facilities - totalling 35,000 square feet of data center floor - in the Wasatch Front region of Utah.

Tenants of both C7 and SolutionPro facilities can also opt to back their data up in facilities of C7's other partners in Portland, Ore., Sacramento, Calif., and Honolulu, Hawaii, C7 VP of Marketing and Business Development David Jenkins said.

Wasatch Front is more than 400 miles away from Boise.

"It's in a disaster free zone of the U.S.," Jenkins said. "Those are just areas where FEMA has very few recorded disasters."

C7 President and CEO Nate Hatch said in a statement that the revenue-sharing agreement would give "both companies the opportunity to provide customers with a valuable solution while generating incremental and new business revenue."
