BT's British datacenters will be sold to HP in an agreement due to be formally signed in the coming weeks.
A report in Times Online says that the £1.5 billion deal will see BT extend its management of HP's voice and data networks globally, which it currently only oversees in Europe.
The reports states that BT acknowledges that HP is better equipped to handle the increase in data storage and datacenter service demand from corporate customers across its 24 UK datacenters.
It is believed that BT will sign a 10-year contract to continue using the centers, although both parties are yet to comment on the deal.
