Broadridge Financial Solutions, provider of technology services to the trading industry, has outsourced its data center requirements to IBM.

The company has recently completed moving its infrastructure to an IBM data center. The infrastructure supports processing of more than US$4 trillion in equity and fixed-income trades every day.

The company says it services 13 of the 20 primary dealers of fixed-income securities in the US and more than 1bn of investor communications per year. One of its most popular services is online voting for corporate investors at proxyvote.com.

Broadridge CEO Richard Daly said migration to IBM was a strategic initiative the company took on to provide better value to its clients. “Our clients are under pressure to right-size their operations and technology while seizing new opportunities for growth,” he said.

Under the 10-year IT services agreement, IBM will provide data center space, operations and network support to Broadridge. The outsourcer will manage a range of technologies, from information-security controls to performance.

IBM is one of the leaders in IT and data center outsourcing, serving a diverse list of industry verticals, including aerospace and defense, government, education, insurance and more.
