The Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) of the government of Pakistan Ministry of Information Technology have received the final bids by companies competing for the federal government data centre (FGDC) contract. Bidders are believed to include Si3, Infotech and Nadra amongst others.
In August, the Directorate invited bids from IT companies, with established Internet Data Centre facilities in Islamabad, for the hosting of FGDC on turnkey basis. The data centre facility will host all the internal applications of the Ministries of the Federal Government of Pakistan.
Functional requirements include that the data centre possess "Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS-70) and be certified by SysTrust, TruSecure or ISO17799 for its physical and logical security standards.
