The Bank of England has awarded several suppliers a total of £180m ($243m) in digital transformation contracts.
These will be used to support the “various functions” of the bank’s Technology Directorate.
According to the contract award notice posted on Find a Tender, the contract is divided into seven lots, each with its own name.
This includes: Infrastructure Services; Platform Services; Recruit, Train, Deploy; Enterprise Services; Product Delivery and Management; Data Services; and Architecture, Transformation, and Advisory.
Data center services are covered under the first lot – Infrastructure Services – but no data center providers have been named in the supplier list. However, the Bank of England currently uses the UK's Crown Hosting Data Centres (CHDC) for information storage colocation services, as per a contract awarded in April 2024.
Instead, the suppliers across all seven lots hail from digital transformation firms, IT service firms, digital consulting companies, and recruitment agencies.
This includes: Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Virtusa, Version 1, Coforge, FDM, La Fosse, Peregrine, Resource Solutions, Civica, Mastek, Baringa, CGI, Credera, and PA Consulting.
The tender offer was posted in February 2025, and the contract was eventually awarded to the various suppliers in October. The notice of award, however, was only published in December.
CHDC is a joint venture between the Cabinet Office and UK data center operator Ark Data Centres.
