Axe Compute has acquired its AI infrastructure cluster located in Columbus, Georgia, from Duos Technologies Group.
The acquisition was completed on September 30 and saw Axe Compute take over 100 percent of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) that owned the cluster. Axe Compute paid off the SPV's asset-backed loan facility of $87.6m, and the remaining consideration consists of $42.9m, which is a deferred purchase price payable to Duos in monthly installments of $715,000.
Axe Compute intends to use revenue from the cluster, which comprises 2,304 Nvidia B300 GPUs in 288 servers, to pay off the remainder.
Duos Technologies, under a separate agreement, covers the colocation and energy costs for the site under a five-year term.
The cluster is located at Duos' data center in Columbus, Georgia. The two companies teamed up in August 2026, with Duos providing Axe Compute with multi-location capacity across the US totaling 55MW. The Columbus site alone delivered 10MW to Axe Compute.
“In another validation of our partnership with Duos, we are taking this step so we can both focus on what we do best. Duos is a world-class data center builder, and we are fortunate to call them a partner,” said Christopher Miglino, CEO of Axe Compute. “Our customer is committed for five years, our power and facility costs are covered for five years, and we own our GPUs. That alignment is expected to significantly expand the margin profile and return on this existing cluster.”
“This is the right move for both companies, and our relationship with Axe Compute has never been stronger,” added Doug Recker, CEO of Duos Technologies Group. “It streamlines the Georgia structure so Axe Compute can focus on what it does exceptionally well, delivering AI clusters to its customers. Duos stays focused on what we do best, providing the power and infrastructure behind them, now under a five-year partnership.”
Axe Compute is a newcomer on the neocloud scene.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company has had various identities over the years. Its earliest SEC filings state that the company was previously known as Skyline Medical, offering a system for the collection and disposal of infectious fluids from surgical procedures, transitioning twice more before a final rebrand to Axe Compute in late 2025.
When the company first pivoted to neocloud services, it adopted a Web3 GPU provider, but has since begun sourcing its own capacity to offer more traditional neocloud services.
Since Axe Compute published its Q2 2026 earnings in August, the company has received more than $184m in customer prepayments and $286m in new AI contracts, bringing the total value of contracts signed by the company in the past seven months to more than $3.45 billion.
