The Edge location is protected against infrastructure-level DDoS threats with AWS Shield Standard and is designed to deliver static and dynamic content, APIs, and live and on-demand video with low latency and high performance.

The cloud giant is currently in the midst of developing a full cloud region in Saudi Arabia.

In March 2024, it revealed that it hoped to have a cloud region launched in the country in 2026, along with plans to invest more than $5.3 billion over the longer term.

AWS has existing regions in Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Microsoft is also developing a cloud region in Saudi Arabia, revealing that it had completed the construction of the data centers in December 2024. Google and Oracle have existing regions in the country.
