Auto-Owners Insurance Group has decided to build a new center near its existing headquarters, delaying plans to move its corporate offices to DeWitt Township, Michigan.
According to company officials, the US$45 million, 96,000-square-foot data center is more of a priority than the planned 300 acre corporate office.
Construction is due to start later this year, with completion expected in mid-2009, Auto-Owners officials said. The new building will be used for the company's document and premium processing operations.
