Open Networking Foundation appoints chairman of Wireless and Mobile Working Group
The Open Networking Foundation (ONF) has appointed Huawei’s Dr Serge Manning as chairman of its Wireless and Mobile Working group.
Dr Manning has more than 20 years’ experience within the telecommunications industry, holding various positions within vendor and operator companies.
The working group was created to collect use cases and determine architectural and protocol requirements for extending OpenFlow-based technologies to wireless and mobile domains.
The Open Networking Foundation’s executive director Dan Pitt said: “His expertise and the work of this new Group will be important as we more deeply engage with wireless and mobile operators around the globe. With the exponential growth of mobile data, there is an inherent need to simultaneously operate over multiple wireless technologies.”
Extreme Networks appoints Eric Broockman as VP and CTO
Extreme Networks has appointed Eric Broockman as vice president and chief technology officer (CTO) and will be based at the company’s headquarters in San Jose, California.
Broockman has held numerous CEO and GM throughout the technology sector over the past 25 years.
Broockman’s depth of industry experience includes executive management roles for technology leaders, including Cirrus Logic, where he was the VP/GM of the Crystal Division, and IBM. He recently served as the CEO of Alereon Inc, where he led the strategy and product development of the industry’s first gigabit OFDM wireless solution.

TrendPoint expands senior executive leadership team
TrendPoint has appointed three new members for its senior executive leadership team.
Current president Lisa Mandell has been appointed to the company’s CEO.
Current VP of engineering and production Jon Trout and is adding CTO to his title.
Donna Carter has been promoted from Controller to VP of finance and well as corporate secretary which is an officer position.
The company said following its strong growth and revenue it has made several key changes to the senior leadership team.

MEF appoints chairman of Orange Business Services
The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) have appointed current head of global marketing- network solutions at Orange Business Services, Andrew McFazden as the company’s new chairman.
McFazden has more than 30 years’ experience within international telecommunications and has been a director of the MEF since 2011.
He previously held business leadership positions with Orange Business Services in the United Kingdom and Germany and worked in a variety of international roles at Deutsche Telekom and Cable & Wireless.
The MEF’s president Nan Chen said: “We are delighted to have Andrew take the MEF forward as the Carrier Ethernet industry enters a new growth phase characterized by more dynamic, productivity-enhancing services.”
Equinix appoints Donald Badoux as MD for Germany
Equinix has appointed Donald Badoux at its managing director of the company’s German division.
Badoux has more than 20 years’ of experience within the data center industry with previous positions at SAVVIS Germany GmbH where he was managing director.
He was also responsible for German business activities at euNetworks and held various executive sales positions with Verizon, Ericsson and BT.
Badoux will be responsible for overseeing the company’s German data center operations, the company currently has ten International Business Exchange (IBX) facilities located in Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf.
Equinix Europe’s president Eric Schwartz said: "Donald Badoux has an impressive track record as the manager of network and data centre providers. I therefore firmly believe that by working closely with our highly qualified team in Germany he will play an important part in the continued growth of Equinix."
Perseus appoints Karen Bertoli as CMO
Perseus Telecom has hired Karen Bertoli as its chief marketing officer.
The company said Bertoli will be responsible for leading the global brand and act as a spokesperson across all asset classes, cryptocurrency (Bitcoin), fibre, microwave access, multi-media, e-commerce and online gaming.
Bertoli will be based in the company’s Miami officer but will be a “regular” at other offices in Chicago, London, New York, Sao Paulo and Hong Kong.
The former Chief Marketing Officer of London-based Fixnetix will remain as an Advisor to the market data, trading and risk control provider.
