Amigo Loans, a large UK guarantor loans company, has chosen London-based colocation data center City Lifeline to support its data center expansion and provide backup for business continuity.

The Bournemouth-based company has signed a two-year contract with the colo provider to fully secure its disaster recovery backup and an additional internet breakout, which City Lifeline said would improve resilience if the compnay's site’s main connection is disrupted.

Amigo Loans had been using an in-house setup for its mission-critical operations, including its disaster recovery backups, but as it has continued to expand it decided to ensure “full resilience” through outsourcing.

Mark Burgess, IT director at Amigo Loans, said by outsourcing, he was leaving the data center operations “to the specialists”, allowing Amigo to concentrate on its core business.
