Aliyun, the cloud services arm of Chinese Internet giant Alibaba Group, has partnered with ICT service provider Donghua Software to work alongside each other in projects covering cloud, big data and a smart city.

According to the agreement, Donghua Software will establish a Donghua Smart City Group in Zhejiang Province as its wholly-owned subsidiary, which will serve as the platform for the comprehensive cooperation between Aliyun and Donghua Software.

Under the three-year agreement, the two parties will jointly provide consultation, design, construction, operation and application development services on smart cities and big data based on Aliyun’s cloud computing platform.

With this partnership, more application solutions provided by Donghua Software will be sold via Aliyun’s cloud computing platform, which will help Donghua to gain greater market share in the smart city sphere and develop integrated cloud-based solutions, according to Donghua Software.

The two parties will also establish a Joint Working Group for promoting product training, ecosystem building, and marketing work in areas they cooperate.

Established in 2009, Aliyun has research and development centers and operation centers in Hangzhou, Beijing and Silicon Valley.

It operates three data centers in Mainland, and brought its Hong Kong data center by partnering with Towngas Telecom in May.

Established in 2001, Donghua Software has more than 30 subsidiaries across China, and is the owner of more than 300 patents for software products.
