Fiber network developer and operator AGL Networks announced on Wednesday completion of a project to expand backbone dark fiber into a new data center in the Atlanta, Ga., metro area.

The new facility is owned by Atlanta-based Internet service and colocation provider NationalNet and is located in Marietta, Ga. - about 22 miles away from Atlanta. The company also provides dedicated and managed server solutions and services.

AGL Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources, an Atlanta-based energy company whose main business is distribution of natural gas in six states.
