American Fiber Systems (AFS) has announced it has completed a metropolitan fiber network solution in the Kansas City metropolitan area on behalf of 1&1 Internet (1&1).
The metropolitan fiber network solution connects 1&1's newest Data Center (zdtweb.com: 1&1 unveils new high-end data center, 30 January), located in Lenexa, Kansas with a number of Internet bandwidth providers, carrier hotels and network hubs in Kansas City, Missouri. American Fiber Systems, as part of its major dedication and focus on the enterprise market, built a 4-node, point-to-point, metro fiber circuit which included three major telecommunications Points of Presence (POPs) already on the company's network in the Kansas City metro area.
