A hyperscale data center project is coming to Wanju County in North Jeolla, South Korea.

Aedan Looking Glass Inc. (ALG) has signed a purchase and sale agreement to develop a 200MW data center - dubbed the North Jeolla Province Data Center Project.

ALG is a US government contractor that develops modular data centers, cloud computing platforms, and automated defense systems for government and private sector companies. ALG is developing the data center on behalf of Turnkey Capital Inc. (TKCI), which, according to its website, offers "a proprietary platform combining behavioral science, pattern recognition, and neural technologies to create self-learning AI protocols deployable across any device or operating system."

ALG and TKCI have a $450 million technology licensing agreement, which enables TKCI's cloud platform to be deployed across ALG's modular data center infrastructure. The project in South Korea is the company's first planned for the Asia-Pacific region.

The agreement for the project was signed between ALG and chairman Cheolho Moon.

Big Shine Worldwide is set to provide sustainable power infrastructure for the data center.

Ultimately planned to offer 200MW of IT capacity and be developed using ALG's modular deployment module, the North Jeolla Province Data Center is expected to see $9 billion in investment to reach full buildout. Details about ALG's modular offering are not publicly shared.

Myles Gray, representing ALG, said: "Bringing this 200MW project together is the landmark of my efforts and my career. The parties are currently conducting "due diligence" and hope to break ground in the coming months.

North Jeolla Province is a self-governing province in the Honam region of South Korea, located in the southwestern area of the country. While most of the country's data centers are located around the capital city Seoul, earlier this year, SGC Energy revealed plans to build a 300MW data center in the province.
