US managed hosting services provider Admo.net has launched a new data center in Kansas City, Missouri, as part of an expansion program.

Adam Ward, the company's president, said the launch was the next strategic step in improving the quality of service the company provides to its customers. “The combination of our experience in the industry along with new power-system upgrades and increased connectivity gives us a competitive edge in the Kansas City market,” he said.

Admo.net operates a Cisco-powered diverse-path network from its newest location on Main Street. It offers access to dark fiber, wavelength, lit services, along with access to more than seven network providers and its own BGP4 blend of public IP transit.

The company's product portfolio includes dedicated servers, colocation and managed hosting.

Kansas City is not a big data center market, compared to major metros around the US, but Admo.net does face some competition there. Competitors include Layered Technology and Cavern Technologies.

Layered bought hosting provider GSI that had an 80,000 sq ft data center in Kansas City in 2010. Cavern has an underground facility in the market it is selling data center space in.
