The newly-established Abu Dhabi Investment Council has announced the completion of the installation of state-of-the-art technology infrastructure. The project involved the installation of an advanced data center, audio visual solutions, data network and voice systems within three months.
Alpha Data, the UAE's largest systems integrator, installed state-of-the art blade servers, and advanced storage facilities within the data center which is located on the ground floor of a 5-storey facility.
According to an AMEInfo report, a particular challenge for the project team was converting the ground floor from its original use as an auditorium to a core data center.
Mohammed Behery a senior project manager for Alpha Data added: 'We converted everything from the flooring, ceiling, and AC units to the international standards required in such a critical center.' 'The key factors in any data center include the temperature and the amount of water in the air,' he added. '
Too much of either can result in huge losses for an organisation; valuable equipment such as servers and storage must be maintained in precise conditions.The equipment we have installed will ensure the air temperature and humidity levels will be kept to manufacturer's specifications.'
