Following its recent £6.2 billion merger with Saga, the AA has reviewed its IT operations strategy and ended its £50 million outsourcing contract with IBM half way through the seven-year agreement.
It is believed that Saga favours retaining operations in-house rather than outsourcing and has already begun the year-log process of bringing its datacenters and infrastructure back under direct control.
The company feels it can save more money and achieve greater efficiencies by running its own datacenters.
One datacenter is being recommissioned whilst a second could be located on a Saga site or near to the existing facility.
