A new data center campus development is coming to Carlisle, Indiana.

The South Bend Tribune reports that St. Joseph County officials have confirmed the company behind the Razor5 construction project slated for construction east of New Carlisle is a technology company that develops data centers across the country.

The project will be developed on more than 800 acres near Huckleberry and Gordon roads, southeast of New Carlisle. New Carlisle is located in northern Indiana, west of South Bend and east of Chicago.

Razor5 was cleared to buy the land for $1 million in November 2023.

The Tribune reports AWS officials have been spotted around St. Joseph County in recent months, but the company neither confirmed nor denied when asked if the company plans to build the data center in the area.

"AWS has a practice against commenting on rumor or speculation. We are constantly evaluating new locations based on customer demand," a spokesperson told the publication.

County economic development officials have reportedly been meeting with Razor5 since May 2023 about the potential multibillion-dollar project, set to be located near an EV battery plant General Motors is developing with Samsung SDI.
