42U the US' largest, vendor-independent valued-added reseller of datacenter infrastructure solutions, has announced it has been granted a contract number by the US General Services Administration (GSA). Inclusion on the GSA schedule allows 42U to bid on federal contracts for datacenter equipment. 42U's GSA contract number is GS-35F-0180U and can be found under Schedule Information Numbers (SINs) 132-8 (Purchase of Equipment).
42U's contract approval is the result of a 6-month application and negotiation process. With the completion of the contract, the organization can now service a federal and state government customers through a channel that previously was not available to them.
At the launch of its GSA contract, 42U will strictly be offering a select number of Avocent's IT infrastructure management tools including DSView 3 which provides datacenters with a secure, centralized management solution for all of their IT assets-physical and virtual.
