Oso Technologies, a New Mexico-based Web host, has announced that it is opening a new data center. The 22,000 square foot facility will be located in downtown Albuquerque.
The company has invested more than US$1 million to build the facility in an existing building on the north side of the city and anticipates that companies from across the country will colocate at the new center. The exact location of the new facility is being kept under wraps in order to protect the infrastructure and sensitive data that will be stored there.
According to Randy Asselin, Oso's vice president of sales and marketing, the company decided to open the new center because of the high demand for disaster recovery and colocation services.
He said that the Web host anticipates this will greatly expand its customer base in New Mexico.
