George Rockett presented with Selfless Service Award by Erich Sanchack, CEO, Salute Mission Critical

DCD co-founder and CEO George Rockett has been awarded this year’s Selfless Service award by Salute Mission Critical. The honor is bestowed upon individuals in the data center industry who have prominently given back to the industry and the veteran community, without the intention of personal or commercial gain. Previous recipients have included Chris Crosby, CEO at Compass Datacenters and Randy Brouckman, CEO at EdgeConneX.

Presented with the award at the recent DCD>Connect New York event, Rockett said: "I’ve been delighted to support, in a small way, the Salute vision to provide a gateway into the data center industry for military veterans. This not only provides job opportunities to veterans who can launch thriving careers but helps solve the talent and training challenge facing the industry, as we continue to deliver the digital infrastructure solutions that the modern world depends upon. Through these collaborations and the DCD>Academy, we continue to be passionate about supporting professionals in the industry advance their careers and deliver critical infrastructure operations."

Lee Kirby, co-founder & chairman, Salute Mission Critical, said: "George picked up on our mission and its importance from the very beginning and gave us a platform to push the conversation forward. With that collaboration we have affected the lives of 1,000s of military veterans and spouses. I’m personally grateful to George and the DCD team."

Both DCD and Salute Mission Critical are looking forward to further collaboration in the future.
