DCD>Turkey will open its doors to the regional and international data center and cloud community on 5th December at the Wyndham Grand Levent in Istanbul, tracking the effect of the new Turkish Data Protection Legislation.
In a keynote, the President of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority will discuss how the new legislation is shaping up and what effect it will have on the regional IT services sector.
“With the introduction of the data protection law in 2016, data center and cloud service providers are increasingly relying on localised data centers to meet the needs of the region’s growing digital economy”, says George Rockett, CEO & co-Founder of DCD.
Edge and hybrid IT on the rise
The global trend in deploying edge data centers to meet the needs of IoT is also picking up interest on the Turkish market.
“Placing content at the edge and closer to the end user will help provide a more personalised service through more resilient networks and less stress on latency and secured communication”, says Hakan Inceoglu, CTO at ING Bank
“Organizations today need a robust data center strategy which bridges the gap between on-premises infrastructure and off-premise cloud services,” adds Inceoglu who will be joining a panel on hybrid IT which is set to address the key challenges of legacy data centers and the migration to hybrid IT infrastructures.
Earlier this year, the government announced an incentive to the local data center community providing financial support for new data centers by reducing their energy bills, and supporting initial fiber infrastructure installations for larger projects.
“The tremendous government support signals their recognition of the data center industry and the vast growth opportunities investments in data center build-outs bring to the digital economy”, says Rockett.
The event will be joined by IT executives from Aktif Bank, Is Bank, Ebay, MasterCard, Bosch, MNG Kargo, Dropbox, AA and Tadim and many more.
