As high-density builds grow more complex, traditional design and construction models are being pushed to their limits. In response, modular is increasingly being adopted to accelerate delivery and improve quality control. The question now is whether it can also deliver the flexibility needed to keep pace with evolving technologies and demand whilst navigating challenges such as execution risk, supply chain dependency, and limited experience in delivering and integrating modular systems.
This debate will explore:
- Whether modular can evolve from “build fast” to “adapt fast” as design requirements change at unprecedented speed
- If modularity is the only viable path to flexibility, or if other construction models can compete
- How supply chain dependency and integration complexity could limit modular’s scalability
- What will ultimately define success in the next wave of modular deployment
Held under Chatham House Rule, DCD>Debates are open discussions led by a panel of experts, on the biggest issues to face the industry.
