DCD>Debate: Industry-government collaboration - Who will take the first step?

Data centers have long declared themselves the fourth utility, yet still don’t receive the same government support or protection as other essential services like power, water and gas. But as energy resources become increasingly scarce and the reliance on data centers only increases, is now finally the time to collaborate with government bodies and take a coordinated approach to reliability and resiliency?

  • What support does the data center industry need from the government in terms of security, energy availability, and sustainability initiatives?
  • How can we better educate our government officials about the industry and provide opportunities for increased collaboration?
  • Does collaboration with government come at the risk of too much industry regulation?

Held under Chatham House Rule, DCD>Debates are open discussions led by a panel of experts, on the biggest issues to face the industry.
