Panel: Net-Zero by 2050 - can Australia’s data center sector go greener, faster?
As the world journeys towards net-zero, Australia will play an important role in the battle against climate change as the world’s 14th highest emitter. The nation and its most carbon-polluting industries will need to dramatically reduce its reliance on coal, champion sustainable construction and fully embrace the decarbonization of business operations. With Australia seen as one of the four most active data centre markets in Asia Pacific and Sydney recently passing the gigawatt threshold, there is urgency to address the growing environmental footprint of the data center and decarbonize operations as the sector builds at scale.
This panel will outline how realistic the net-zero data center is amidst regional plans for expansion and assess the steps operators can take to cap its energy footprint without compromising on reliability, cost or resilience.
