An anatomy of grid failure - what happens when reality bites?
February 2021, saw the entire state of Texas suffer power cuts as Storm Uri brought temperatures down as low as -7.6 F. As the grid which had not been sufficiently “winterized”, has become harder to manage, operators switched to diesel backup in and ran off the grid where available.
As the global weather changes which so often accompany grid instability have made us all rethink our power resilience strategy, the presenters will outline what we can learn from the response.
